This week's Capoeira Wiki-Word is:
Negativa de Defesa
Don't forget to cite your sources!
The literal english translation of "Negativa de Defesa" is negative defense.
This name in the capoeira context is also related to "Negaça" which we talked about in another Wiki-Word post.
According to Mestre Acordeon, "Negativa de Defesa" is a movement of transition. It is not a position, and this is something people often confuse. You are going down and coming back up. The video above gives an excellent example of the technique as a movement of transition. The photos give you accurate picture of the the bottom of the movement, but be mindful not to confuse the pictures with it as a position.
