This week's Capoeira Wiki-Word is:

Don't forget to cite your sources!

Galera translates fairly simply to english.  It means group of people, friends, or gang.  It's like saying everybody.

So, this begs the question:  "Why is such a simple word an entry in our Capoeira Wiki-Word of the Week?"

The answer lies in what capoeira offers us today in our fast paced modern lifestyle.  Capoeira can be the family or community that an increasingly isolated daily life needs in order to be balanced.

So whenever you hear your mestre say something like, "Ok galera..." you know you're amongst friends and fellow capoeiristas.

A simple entry, but one that's more fun than anything else.
